O concello de Fene é un municipio situado no noroeste de Galicia, integrado na comarca coruñesa de Ferrolterra que, á súa vez, forma parte do golfo Ártabro coas Mariñas e A Coruña. En Fene podemos atopar lugares naturais de enorme beleza, nos que gozar das augas das rías de Ferrol e Ares ou do bosque atlántico nas Fragas do río Belelle.

The municipality borders to the north with the municipality of Neda, in the south with those of Cabanas, Ares and its estuary. In the eastern part it borders with the council of A Capela. In the western part it borders Mugardos and the estuary of Ferrol. Its territory is distributed in eight parishes.

Os primeiros restos da cultura material das comunidades prehistóricas que se coñecen no Concello de Fene son instrumentos líticos, datados no Paleolítico Medio, que se atoparon na zona litoral da parroquia de Maniños.

Emigration to America had a great impact on this area, made visible by the numerous Indian constructions throughout the different parishes of this council.
