n the Neda - Pontedeume stage, leaving Neda, the church of Santa María and the Gothic church of San Nicolás stand out. Once past the church of Santa María, we cross the River Belelle over a pretty footbridge and join the old, arcaded Calle Real where, in the middle of the street, the Clock Tower stands out, next to the Town Hall and the remains of the old Pilgrims' Hospital of “Sancti Spiritos”.

Continuing straight on we visit the church of San Nicolás, where we can admire one of the oldest crosses in Galicia. This is a quiet stage with only one climb at the exit of Neda, where we can admire magnificent views of the Ferrol estuary. From this point we can appreciate how far we have already walked, as we can see a large part of the route.
After passing a washing area and a fountain, we pass the town of Fene. After a short stretch of walking we reach the town centre where we will have all kinds of services for pilgrims. After passing the washing area of Mundín, we start to climb along a dirt track, approaching the Town Hall of Cabanas, after passing the industrial estate of Vilar do Colo.
Descending to the town of Cabanas, you can enjoy a spectacular view, on this Neda - Pontedeume stage, of the mouth of the river Eume, which a few kilometres further up forms the Fragas do Eume Natural Park. From this point, if you look at the mountain in front of you, you can see the castle of Nogueirosa.
Now we only have to cross the bridge over the river Eume... Get an idea, there are only 15 arches nowadays, but there used to be 70!
In Pontedeume, the entire historic quarter is a collection of monuments, from the Tower of Andrade - which formed part of the palace that this powerful family had there - to the church of Santiago, passing through the building that houses the town hall, the library and the convent of the Augustinians.
