Miño enjoyed Primavera no Camiño Inglés

The town of Miño enthusiastically hosted a new edition of “Primavera no Camiño”, a festive day that once again highlighted the great potential of the English Way as a cultural, touristic and social driving force. From the early hours of the morning, both locals and pilgrims passing through the municipality were drawn in by a programme designed for all audiences, which once again established itself as one of the most distinctive events on the calendar. The day began in a lively atmosphere, thanks to the roaming performance by the Traditional Group of the Municipal Music School of A Begoña, which set a cheerful tone for the event and accompanied local authorities during the official tour of the fair. Throughout the morning, the Institutional Space hosted the official opening of the event, followed by a wide range of cultural activities that generated great interest among the attendees.

In the afternoon, the improvisational theatre performance “Impro no Camiño” brought smiles and applause from the audience gathered at the Primavera Stage. Also noteworthy was the awards ceremony for the 5th English Way Photography Competition, along with the presentation of the upcoming edition of the English Way Half Marathon and 10K, organised by the Stelar Network. One of the most appreciated moments was the presentation of the book “Galician-British Historical Relations: The English Way to Santiago”, which particularly appealed to passing pilgrims keen to learn more about the historical and cultural dimension of the route. The final highlight of this rich cultural programme was a sunset concert by the group “Arnela”, held with the support of Miño Council, which brought the day to a close in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

An event for all the senses

“Primavera no Camiño” was not just about culture. The Espazo Lúdico (Play Space) played a central role throughout the day, with the LUDICIRCO play area and children’s workshops keeping young ones entertained in a safe and educational environment. In addition, the popular children’s bread-making workshop, organised by Neda Council, offered new generations a playful introduction to Galicia’s gastronomic heritage.

The showcooking area offered live tastings that delighted all who attended. From cheeses and requeixos from Campo Capela, to empanadas from La Nueva Bakery in Neda, and grilled meats from Brasa de Beche restaurant (A Begoña), the event was also a true celebration of local and seasonal products. The GASTROBAR, run in collaboration with A Artesa da Moza Crecha, provided a high-quality menu of local offerings throughout the day, warmly received by visitors.

The STELAR Artisan Market completed the experience with a carefully selected range of craft and local product stalls, drawing the attention of both residents and international pilgrims, who were impressed by the quality and originality of the items on display. The combination of creativity and tradition allowed many visitors to take home a piece of the English Way.

A boost for the English Way

The celebration of this new edition in Miño underscored the importance of revitalising the municipalities along the English Way, showing that the passage of pilgrims is not only a tourism opportunity, but also a chance to strengthen local identity and the region’s economic fabric. The Association of Municipalities of the English Way, organiser of the event along with the Stelar Network, and with the support of the Provincial Council of A Coruña and Miño Council, has positively evaluated the public response, the institutional participation and, above all, the involvement of the people who make it possible for the the English Way to be an increasingly rich, inclusive and sustainable experience.
