The Association of Local Councils of Camino Inglés collaborates and participates in the EcomWay

Mirás emphasised that "together we are improving both the Camino and the quality of the services it offers, so I hope that in a few years it will be a route with many more pilgrims".

The president of the Association of Local Councils of the Camino Inglés, Manuel Mirás Franqueira, and the manager of the entity, Cristina García Souto, participated during this weekend in the EcomWay, an event organised by the Ayuntamiento of A Coruña and the Diputación Provincial that brought together professionals in tourism, communication and marketing around the Camino Inglés. Manuel Mirás participated as a speaker at the congress and he hosted in Sigüeiro (Oroso) the participants, who travelled the stages between the city of Hercules and Compostela, a pilgrimage which the association's manager joined.

Manuel Mirás highlighted that the creation of this association is the result of the work that began in 1981 and that "took a leap in quality when the Provincial Council —Diputación— began to support the Camino Inglés, which we are all improving, both in its route and in the quality of the services it offers, so I hope that in a few years it will be a route with many more pilgrims". In this sense, he highlighted that the Camino Inglés "is a unique route with three parts: land, sea and earth. That is, the first stages on foot on British soil to the southern ports; a second route by boat and the Galician part of the Way, either from Ferrol or from A Coruña".

In the same way, the president of the Association of Local Councils of the Camino Inglés stressed that the municipalities of this Jacobean route "are all united around this diamond in the rough and what we intend to make it well known and that it is a homogeneous route, with quality services for the pilgrims". Something that the participants in the EcomWay were able to verify, while they were walking the three stages of the Camino Inglés from A Coruña and Santiago.
