Augustine Camino

SE England – 70 miles / 112 km, from Rochester to Ramsgate

The Augustine Camino starts at Rochester Cathedral in Kent and makes its way to the Shrine of St Augustine in Ramsgate, via Canterbury Cathedral. For centuries before the martyrdom of St Thomas Becket, pilgrims travelled to Canterbury to visit the Shrine of St Augustine who was celebrated for bringing Christianity to England. The route then continues to Ramsgate, where the saint landed after his voyage to Rome. Alongside the wonders of nature of the North Downs and the Stour Valley, there is magnificent art and architecture along the way.
